In a gruesome incident, a 65-year-old was bludgeoned to death by his own son at Nazeerabad area under Nazeerbad police station area on Saturday.
Police said around 6 pm on Saturday, an altercation broke out between accused Jamna Prasad and his sister-in-law in their house. When the altercation turned nasty, his father Madan lal intervened to pacify the situation. In his efforts to make peace he became the victim of furious Jamna who hit him with a stone and escaped the house. The victim died while on his way to hospital and was declared brought dead on arrival at the hospital. The police have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC and have started further investigation. The accused was not arrested till late evening on Sunday. The family members confirmed that the accused infuriated with the interference of his father and attacked him with a stone in his head which proved fatal for the victim.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old farmer died after being electrocuted at his farm in Amla village under Ratibad police station area on Sunday. According to the police at around 8.30 am when the victim Vijay Singh had gone to his farms and while sprinkling pesticides he was electrocuted after coming in contact with live wire near the electric pole in his farms. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have sent the body for post mortem. Further investigation has been ordered into the matter.
