A large number of farmers from the State reached Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s residence and felicitated him for taking revolutionary decisions in the interests of the farmers. Notably, Chief Minister Chouhan has announced waiver of 10 per cent on repayment of loan taken for seeds and fertilizers. This conditional waiver on the one hand would inspire the farmers to repay loans on time and on the other hand, they would become eligible for taking loan again for other agriculture works.
Chouhan in return of his devoir said that the biggest aim is to see glow in the eyes and smile on the faces of farmers. “I would never let farmers’ respect go down, the turban tied by the farmers to me as mark of respect is actually the faith of farmers in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of Madhya Pradesh,” Chouhan said.
Chouhan further said, “BJP is the party of farmers, BJP is the party of the common man. Farmers are life providers, because all the essential things needed in the life gets manufactured in factories, but the most important thing the grain could not be produced in any factory. It is made by the hard work of farmers in their fields. If the farmer of the country weakens than the country would also become weak.”
He said that the buzz of his Government is to make agriculture a profit making business. The Congress had increased the electricity bills of the farmers that were waived off by the BJP Government soon after assuming office. Farmers are good sons of the country, Congress never looked at them with this perspective, he added.
Agriculture Minister Gourishankar Bisen, who was also present on the occasion said that the BJP Government of the State has always remained with the farmers. During the last decades, attention was not paid on agriculture but now it is the subject of priority in the State. The State Government is committed for the welfare and economical progress of the farming community, he added.
