An Executive Engineer posted with UAD was held captive and robbed of valuables at knifepoint at his house in Harshwardhan Nagar under TT Nagar police station area in the wee hours on Sunday.
The victim Alok Chouksey who is a resident of Harshwardhan Nagar was captivated by four miscreants in the wee hours on Sunday and robbed of cash and valuables, said the police.
Chouksey lodged a complaint with the TT Nagar police and claimed that at around 4 am four miscreants barged into his house and tied him with a chair while held other family members captive in their rooms except his wife who was asked to provide information of the valuables at knifepoint.
The complainant has also claimed that the miscreants assaulted him and excaped in his car. The miscreants made away with cash `60000, gold and silver ornaments.
Family was scheduled to attend a family function in Nagpur due to which on Friday they had withdrawn money and ornaments. All the cash and ornaments were kept in a bag which the miscreants took before escaping. The miscreants threatened to kill Alok and his wife if they went to police.
Police said that the miscreants were wearing high intensity lights on their heads due to which the victim was not able to see their faces.
On the same night security guard at Riveria Town lodged a complaint that few miscreants were seen near the society and when he tried to follow they fled the spot and before leaving they stone pelted at the security guard.
The security guard raised alarm which alerted the residents who informed the Kamla Nagar police, following which a police team was rushed to the spot but was not able to find the miscreants. Police said that miscreants spotted at Riveria Town were the same who committed robbery in Harshwardhan Nagar.
