Under the guidance of Director General of Police Vivek Johri, a extensive trial run of e-FIR service of Madhya Pradesh Police was started from SCRB Police Headquarters today.

Additional Director General of Police (SCRB) Chanchal Shekhar informed that during this trial run, any victim civilian vehicle theft (up to Rs 15 lakh) and general theft (worth Rs one lakh) can be reported on the website of Madhya Pradesh Police https://mppolice.gov.in, citizen Portal https://citizen.mppolice.gov.in and by logging in with your ID through Mobile App (MPECOP).

The accused should be unidentified for e-FIR and there should be no use of force in the incident. With this citizens will be able to register FIR without going to the police station. This facility will be available 24X7.

As soon as the complainant uploads the application, he will receive the acknowledgment through SMS and the format of FIR in PDF format on his mobile. After reading the complaint of the complainant, the concerned station in-charge will OK the FIR and immediately appoint an investigator and start the investigation.

Various institutions, SCRB and MAPIT are involved in the implementation of e-FIR. Trial run is done before any software is implemented on a large scale so that the problems faced at the field level of the service can be resolved. Apart from this, social media web pages of all the districts have been prepared through which press notes and social media information will be easily available. The website of any district can be accessed at <district>mppolice.gov.in.
