Ahead of Rahul Gandhi's visit to Bhopal on June 3, 2025, the Bhopal police have deployed over 1,500 personnel to secure key locations, including the State Congress Office (PCC Madhya Pradesh) and Ravindra Bhavan Auditorium. This move is aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of events and the safety of the Congress leader, who is expected to launch the ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’ (Organization Creation Campaign) as part of efforts to revitalize the Congress party’s organizational framework in the state.
The security arrangements were reviewed on June 2 by senior police officials, who assessed the preparedness of the police force to handle the expected crowd of over 500 Congress leaders and workers at the venues. In addition to the large police presence, the Bhopal Police have put in place a comprehensive security cordon around both the State Congress Office and the Ravindra Bhavan Auditorium, including multiple checkpoints for monitoring access.
Specialized security units, including plainclothes officers and anti-sabotage teams, will be stationed at key points to maintain vigilance. Traffic diversions and roadblocks are planned to ensure smooth movement of attendees while minimizing disruptions. The police are also coordinating with Congress party organizers to facilitate crowd control and ensure the safety of all participants.
This visit comes shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bhopal on May 31. Rahul Gandhi’s day-long visit will focus on revitalizing the Congress party’s presence in Madhya Pradesh, especially following recent electoral defeats. At the State Congress Office, Gandhi will meet with senior party leaders to discuss the political landscape of the state and strategize for upcoming challenges. He will also engage with MPs and MLAs to address regional issues and align the party’s focus with public expectations.
In a separate session at the Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium, Gandhi will meet with AICC observers and state in-charges to discuss leadership restructuring and boosting grassroots networks. His visit will culminate at the Ravindra Bhavan Auditorium, where he will formally launch the ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’.
