Educationist Devkinandan Chaurasiya said that ‘single education policy’ should be implemented on the line of ‘single tax policy’ that has been implemented in the form of GST.

Chaurasiya was speaking at a workshop on ‘new education policy’, organised by Madhya Pradesh Child Rights Commission here on Thursday.

He added that State should take part in country’s education policy and to improve State’s education system, education commission should be established.

Several educationists, administrative officers and mediapersons gave their valuable suggestions on this topic.

Additional commissioner of Excise Department Naresh Chaubey said that teachers’ recruitment process should also be on the line of recruitment of Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers and State Administrative Services (SAS) officers, because teacher plays an important role in nation building.

Chaubey further said that the ability of the teachers should be tested by inculcating competitiveness among them and not by punishing them.

Educationist Vipin Sharma said that the facility of commercial education should commence from eighth standard instead of class 12, as it is now. Moreover, it should be according to student’s interest, he added.

lakhs of teachers’ posts are lying vacant in the State, but students are not interested in becoming a teacher because the salary of a contractual teacher is far less than a Government peon.

“So, how can we expect good education from these teachersIJ” asked journalist Praveen Chitransh.

Several speakers advocated that the minimum age for admission in schools should be three years. People also gave their suggestions for change in the SCT syllabus.

In the end of the workshop, Chairman of Child Commission Raghavendra Sharma expressed his gratitude to the people.
