Exit polls confuse with contradictions

Published on:

It was expected that the Exit polls would clear the confusion over who would form Government in Madhya Pradesh, but they have further confused the people.

Most of the Exit Polls have offered a contradictory verdict some forecasting a win for BJP, while others giving Congress an edge.

As the Congress second rung leaders started rejoicing over the favourable verdicts by exit polls, the top leaders- Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Digvijay Singh are yet to go public with their take on the exit poll results, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday claimed he was confident of a win.

Having spent three days vacationing at Bandhavgarh, while leaving for Datia, Chouhan told media persons, “I have been among the public day and night so there is no surveyor bigger than me. We are winning in Madhya Pradesh.”

He said a BJP government was necessary for the bhanja-bhanjis, for farmers, for the poor and the public. The voters have given their support to BJP in the wider interest of the public and the BJP would form the government with majority, he added.

Chouhan termed his trip to Bandhavgarh tiger reserve a refreshing experience where he got the chance to spend the time in close proximity of wild animals and greenery.

Later in the day, Chouhan offered prayers at Pitambara Peeth temple at Datia and then attended meetings with BJP leaders at his residence.

However with most of the exit polls auguring a close finish in MP the speculations regarding the possible role of ‘others’ is also debated.
