'Exit of Raghavji will bring about Govt's downfall'

Not missing the opportunity to attack the ruling Government after sudden resignation of Finance Minister Raghavji amidst allegations of sodomy, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Kantilal Bhuria said on Friday that the sudden exit of Raghavji has opened the gates of BJP Government’s downfall in the State.

Congress party workers will stage protest in every district of State on Saturday, demanding that an FIR should be registered against Raghavji and he should immediately be arrested.

Bhuria alleged that several other Ministers of the State Government are involved in the similar activities due to which Raghavji was forced to resign from his post. “The State Government should make public the reasons for removal of its senior Minister, in such a hurry. This is an important issue because it is for the first time that a senior Minister is shown exit door immediately before the legislative elections,” Bhuria said.

Bhuria said that the sudden removal of Raghavji pointed towards the fact that some Ministers of the State Government are deeply involved in such activities. “Every other day, we hear about such CDs and that crores of rupees are paid to keep them under the carpet. But the morally corrupt Ministers of the State Government should realise that if not today, these CDs will surface tomorrow,” he said.

PCC general secretary Shantilal Pandiyar informed that MPCC has notified all the District Congress Committees (DCC) presidents about the protest. All the office-bearers and workers of party will participate in Saturday’s protest. “Earlier, the BJP Government was under questioning for their incapability to control crime against women now their Cabinet Ministers are being accused of sexual harassment, it clearly displays the moral degradation of the State Government,” he said.

Pandiyar said that DCC presidents have to submit a report of the protest. Bhuria has appealed to the DCC presidents to ensure effective organisation of the protest in their respective districts.
