An exhibition of art works ‘Angrah’ by Anant Kumar Sahu is being put up at Alliance Francaise de Bhopal’s art gallery.

The exhibition began from April 13 at the gallery when  the Bhopalites had a close look at the magnificent works of artist Anant Sahu.

Angrah is an exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Anant Kumar Sahu. He has obtained his BFA and MFA from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidhyalaya, Khairagarh and his PhD in visual arts from Allahabad University.

Talking about his works, Sahu said, “Often I wonder if 'unfinished' is synonym to 'incomplete' or ugly, just opposite to the norms which defines beauty or it is the way I wish to express my feelings, about the world we live inIJ”

Elaborating further, he said, “In my paintings or sculptures animals or birds or human forms are not depicted exactly as people generally find them but a close look will reveal their characters which define them.

So, when they ask me what do I paint, my answer is the world around me. I try to convince them that I've not left them unfinished, it is just my way of expression.”

“I met many people who try hard to change their looks, change the look of plants and trees as if nature has left them unfinished but, we know that nature's creation is flawless.

It is her style of expression. That means there are few who try to finish even most finished and flawless creation. I refrain.”
