Member of Parliament (MP) and ex-student of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Bhagirath Prasad here on Saturday condemned the recent incident of anti-national and pro-Pakistan sloganeering and demanded the refurbishment of the clear image of the JNU.
While talking to the media persons, Prasad said that the university has produced many academicians, bureaucrats, politicians, scientists, journalists and responsible citizens of high repute and its image is being dented due to few culprits.
The university is filled with highly talented students who are nation’s pride and they must be protected, and to do that the status of the university must be restored and preserved, added Prasad.
“Anti-national forces are trying to create such a situation in different campuses in the country. So by conducting proper investigation this conspiracy should be fully exposed before the nation. Enough is enough; we strongly condemn this incident and call for stringent action against them,” said Prasad.
The ex-JNUites forum extend support to the part of JNU students, Karmachari Association (JNUKA) and large number of JNU teachers who have come forward against these anti-India subversive elements. Ex- JNU’ites across the nation who are deeply hurt are also expressing their concern about the incident.
They have decided two programs to strengthen the hands of responsible students of JNU and members of the JNU community, who are struggling hard to expose these elements. First one is online signature campaign by ex- JNU’ites and the second one is Press conference and solidarity program by ex-JNUites in major cities of the country. The ex-JNUite forum appealed the JNU community to cooperate with the investigation and isolate anti-national elements, they also urged that political parties’ supporting attempts to shield the culprits should desist from playing politics on issues of national importance. It further asked the students not to allow a section of JNU community to bring disrepute to the JNU legacy.
