A day after the letter of the senior party MP and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan coming out with his reaction over four page letter of senior BJP leader and MP Shanta Kumar over VYAPAM and lalit Modi controversies to party president Amit Shah, senior party leader from the state and a former MP Kailash Sarang defending Chouhan wrote to Kumar.
Notably, Sarang is considered close to Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his son Vishwas Sarang is two-term legislator of the BJP.
Sarang in his letter to Kumar who is also a former chief minister of Himachal Pradesh said, “The BJP workers are not ashamed with the allegations of VYAPAM but their head has been let down by your letter. Party workers head hangs up with pride after the action taken over it by the state government. The reason is that the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s commitment to bring in administrative purity, courage and morality that he himself exposed the scam and ordered enquiry into it.”
Sarang further said that whatever good could be done for the enquiry into the scam was done by Chouhan and when the need for CBI enquiry was felt that was also recommended by him. Toying to chief minister’s line the senior party leaders advised the former HP chief minister to have verified the facts before writing letter to the party president.
Sarang in the letter claimed that the letter of Shanta Kumar would encourage the Congress party for leveling baseless allegations in future too.
