Taking a jibe at Woman and Child Development Minister Archana Chitnis, former Chief Minister and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior member Babulal Gaur on Tuesday said in the Assembly that he is hurt when the Minister does not keep her promise made in the House.
While Chitnis was replying to a query posed by Moti Kashyap of the BJP on electricity arrangements in anganwadis, Gaur sought permission from Speaker Sitasaran Sharma to pose a related query.
He said the Minister had promised to take him along for inspection of the condition of malnutrition in Sheopur but did not keep it.
In a lighter vein, he said he felt pained when she did not keep her promise made in the House.
Gaur asked the Minister whether milk was included in supplementary nutrition diet. He said children in Vidisha were not being provided milk. The Minister assured that she would get the matter investigated.
Earlier, Chitnis, while replying to supplementary queries by Kashyap, said endeavours were being made to install 300 watt-solar panel batteries in anganwadi centres for supplying electricity.
She said a memorandum was inked between the Renewable Energy Department and the UN Women in this regard. The scheme would be implemented in the State in phases.
BJP member Kailash Chawla suggested that regular electricity connections could be provided to anganwadi centres if the Department did not have budget for solar energy. Chitnis said financial assistance is being received for the purpose from the UN Women.
