On the birth anniversary of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule, AIIMS Bhopal held a commemorative event on the Legacy of Savitribai Phule and Compassionate Patient Care. Prof Dr Ajai Singh, the Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS Bhopal inaugurated an art gallery of paintings of nursing college students illustrating compassionate service of Savitribai Phule to the society.
He said that compassion and empathy are very important behavioral attribute of healthcare professionals which improves patient satisfaction.
Dean (Nursing) Dr Amit Agrawal, and Associate Dean (Nursing) Dr Saikat Das outlined various educational and research initiatives to be taken by Nursing College to improve compassionate care in the hospital service. AIIMS Bhopal will roll out an initiative named - "KARUNYA" to bring compassion and empathy at center stage of patient care. This will include educational and research initiative including training on compassionate care to health care professionals.
A book entitled, "Applied Sociology", written by Dr. Mamta Verma Principal, Nursing College, was released by on this occasion by Executive Director, Medical Superintendent Deputy. Director present during the program.
