The event dedicated to Urdu poet Yaadien Majaz concluded on Tuesday at Ravindra Bhavan. Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar and singer Shefali Frost were present on the closure ceremony.

The event Yadien Majaz was organised by Madhya Pradesh State Urdu Academy. During the closure ceremony Culture Minister Vijay Lakmi Sadho welcomed Javed Akhtar as well as Suhail Akhtar and Izlal Majeed. He said that Yaadien Majaz is a unique event in itself.

The event began with a talk by Javed Akhtar. It is to be noted that poet Majaz Lakhnavi was the maternal uncle of Javed Akhtar. Javed Akhtar interacted with the audience on Azrar Ul Haq Majaz Hayat Fan aur Shakhsiyat.

Javed Akhtar talked about the personality of poet Majaz. He shared about his career and life with Bhopalites. Later, he also talked about Mujtar Khairadabadi.

Islal Masjid read his article on Muztar Khairabadi.

Javed Akhtar said that it took ten years to gather the life of Majaz and publish a book on him. Then, it took time to select some important pieces and publish them in a book titled as Gulshan.

Referring to the talent of Bhopal, he said that there is a lot of talent in Bhopal. This young talent needs to go out and explore new things. People here don't want to move out. When I hear the poetries of Kaif Bhopali, Akhtar Saeed Khan, Sheri Bhopali Taj Bhopali, I feel amazed. Even people appreciate their poetries across the country.

The event was followed with the performance by Shefali Frost.

Interestingly, Shefali Frost has kept the charm of Urdu alive in London and is working a lot for this language.

She presented few compositions of Majaz. She first performed Ishq Ko Be hijab hona tha, Shauq ko Aftab hona tha. She then performed Khoob Pehchan lo Asrar hoon main.

The event was much enjoyed by the Bhopalites. The closure ceremony eitnessed a huge footfall of poem and Urdu lovers.
