EPIC Foundation keen to bring in a world class electronics hub in MP

EPIC Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, founded and chaired by Ajai Chowdhry along with other industry veterans is keen to bring in a world class electronics hub with support of local players in Madhya Pradesh.

The state currently has a small base for electronics with major software exports primarily from a couple of companies and have three SEZs. Some training equipment, oscilloscopes and power related equipment are being manufactured there and now some PC manufactures and solar-related equipment makers are showing interest in setting up units in Madhya Pradesh.

The state however, has high potential of attracting investments for Electronics and IT sector because of the policy that was launched by the government in 2012 for the IT, ITES and ESDM sector. It is one of most progressive policies under which the electronics hardware manufacturing industry is eligible for all incentives available under the IT policy.

Dr. Ajai Chowdhry has been working with central government and start-up companies in the electronic sector from many years.

He along with his team is visiting MP to meet various stakeholders and is focused towards bringing Electronics Design and Manufacturing to the state of Madhya Pradesh. He started HCL in 1976 with 5 others and created the most successful start-up story of MP and today, he is also known as the "Father of Hardware".

He studied in Christ Church School in Jabalpur and did his engineering in Electronics and Telecom from Jabalpur Engineering College. Not only him, but his father has also contributed much towards the state as IAS MP Cadre.
