The Environmental Planning and Coordination Organisation (EPCO) has prepared a web portal to maintain information regarding conservation and water storage of ponds in the state based on Geographical Information System (GIS). This portal has been prepared in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh Agency for Promotion of Information Technology (MapIT).
More than 2.25 hectare wetland of the state has been included on the portal. Information about ponds, their names, maps, blocks, villages, geographical location and area has been given prominently on the portal. With this information the work of conservation and management of ponds will be easier. The portal is available on EPCO website www.epco.in.
