A first year student of a private engineering college committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at a hostel under Ratibad police station area on Tuesday.
According to the police the deceased Shashi Gupta (20) was found hanging at his room in Dastoor hostel in the morning on Tuesday.
In the initial investigation police found that on Tuesday morning room of the deceased was found locked from inside and when the door was opened he was found hanging with the ceiling.
The deceased was first year student of Radharaman College of Engineering. Police were informed and on the receipt of the information a police team reached the spot and started investigation. The deceased hailed from Dhanbad district of Jharkhand.
Police have not found any suicide note and no reason behind the suicide has been found.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
