A private engineering college flouted guideline of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) during admission process on Monday, due to which the students lost their seats.

laxmi Narain College of Technology (lNCT) administration refused to give admission without depositing full fees, even on the last date of admission process.

According to DTE norms, the students need to submit only demand draft of Rs 20,000 (Rs 10,000 for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates) drawn in favour of Director of Technical Education, Madhya Pradesh.

Prakash De'Costa, a resident from State capital told The Pioneer that his daughter was allotted seat in lNCT through first round of counseling when on Monday, he along with his daughter reached the college for admission, and they were informed by college administration that complete fees of Rs 48,700 for admission, to deposit otherwise the student would not be admitted.

De'Costa further said that all the parents and students present in lNCT brought only the draft of Rs 20,000, as per the norms of DTE, many of them were from outstations, but the college administration did not entertain them.

De'costa said "I immediately made some arrangements and by afternoon I got two more drafts of Rs 16,000 for tuition fees and of Rs 12,500 for bus and uniform fees made, college administration deposited the draft and issued receipt but still did not updated admission detail on portal of DTE and at 5.00 pm told us that server of DTE has closed down so admission is not confirmed."

Since college administration did not upload the admission details on the last date of admission also now the seats will be allotted to other students. lNCT Group Director Suresh Chouksey said that students have to now participate in second round of counseling for admission in the college.
