Eid al-Adha celebrated in Bhopal, thousands gather for prayers

Published on:

On the occasion of Eid al-Adha (Bakrid), thousands of Muslims across the city of Bhopal gathered to offer special prayers, seeking blessings for the well-being of the nation and the safety of the people of Palestine.

The main congregational prayers were held at the Eidgah, led by Shahar Qazi Mushtaq Ali Nadvi, and at the Taj-ul-Masajid, where Maulana Hassan Sahab led the prayers. Worshippers prayed for peace in the country, justice, healing for the sick, and relief for Palestinian brothers and sisters suffering due to conflict, hunger, and dire circumstances.

Namaz was also performed on schedule at various mosques throughout the city, including Moti Masjid, Jama Masjid, and Masjid Bilqis Jahan (Arif Nagar). At the end of the Eid prayer, Qazi Nadvi offered special prayers for peace, harmony, and good rainfall. Both Qazi Nadvi and Maulana Hassan prayed for guidance to walk the path of love and compassion shown by saints, sages, and spiritual elders.

Key points of the prayer included:-

Prayers for the establishment of peace and justice in the nation.

Protection of the country's borders and safety from its enemies.

Healing for the sick and relief for those in distress.

Supplications for innocent victims suffering in Palestine, including starving children and women.

Prayers for the downfall of oppressors and strength and patience for the oppressed.

A plea for people to live with love and kindness, following the example of revered spiritual leaders and elders.

Continued peace, justice, and brotherhood in the country.

Victory of humanity and compassion across the world.

Eid al-Adha was observed with deep devotion and respect in Bhopal today. According to the Islamic calendar, this festival is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhul-Hijjah. The official announcement of Eid was made by Qazi Mushtaq Ali Nadvi on Wednesday evening after the moon was sighted following the Maghrib prayer at Moti Masjid.

From early morning, prayers were held at various places across the city. The Eidgah prayer was held at 6:30 a.m., followed by Taj-ul-Masajid at 6:45 a.m., Jama Masjid at 7:00 a.m., Moti Masjid at 7:15 a.m., and Masjid Bilqis Jahan (Arif Nagar) at 7:30 a.m.

Qazi Nadvi emphasised that animal sacrifice is a significant obligation in Islam, but it must be carried out with cleanliness and dignity. He urged people to cover the sacrifice area properly, maintain hygiene, and follow all government regulations.

Meanwhile, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation put up a hearty effort to manage bio waste. Ninety-one containers transported the remains of the ceremonial slaughter to a rendering plant, ensuring hygienic disposal without burials or water contamination.

Sanitation workers, led by Imtiaz Khan, visited homes to check if waste had been handed over. Mayor Malti Rai had earlier said the Adampur landfill plant will now process waste into animal feed, a first for Madhya Pradesh.
