The story sounds like from the famous quote of a British writer, Benjamin Disraeli — “When I want to read a good book, I write one.”

A 16 years old  school going boy from a small town of the State Agar in Malwa region has penned a 276-page book on IIT titled — ‘life @ The Race 2 IIT.’ The book though available on networking marketing sites would be formally launched by the School Education Minister Paras Jain here on December 11.

Divya Kumar Garg (in pic), a student of Class XI of the Shri Sanskar Academy, while talking to The Pioneer said, “While preparing for the IIT, I could not find any book or literature that could guide me and others like me to crack the tough examination. This prompted me to come up with a book that should include all the essential tips for cracking the competition.”

Garg further said that it was in May 2012 when he thought of writing a book over preparations for IIT examination. “Though I was a bit hesitant in the beginning but till January 2013 I came on the conclusion that I have to write the book and on January 20, 2013 I talked to my father about it. Dad instantly agreed to the idea and encouraged me by saying that it was very good idea and told me to go ahead with it. This boosted my spirit and I got engaged in the work full heartedly and in May 2013 only, I completed the book,” Garg said.

He further said that after completing the book he first edited it twice on his own and then contacted a book editor for final editing.

In March 2014, he contacted the publisher Omji Publishing House Pvt ltd in New Delhi, who after going through the content approved it and they entered into an agreement.

In November 2014, the book got printed and was made available at online marketing site Flipkart from November 20 this year. The book is available at the online marketing company at Rs 135, he added.

He feels excited over the response he is getting since the official promotion of the book that started from December 1.

“Now I am not in mood of going for IIT as I have changed subjects and have turned to commerce. But yes I am thinking over writing another book, the subject of that is not yet decided but it is for sure that it would be a non-fiction,” said disclosed.
