The Easter Mahotsav, a mega event was organised on Sunday at St. Joseph Co-ed school ground by Easter Mahotsav Samithi.
Addressing the large gathering at St. Joseph Co-ed School ground the Archbishop A A.S. Durairaj SVD said-Christianity would never been existed in the world if Jesus Christ had not been resurrected from the tomb.
He said -We are the witness to this truth because of the very fact that we are gathered here in the name of Jesus because He is alive and we are the people of Easter he added. We have dedicated our lives for the service of the world because of the resurrected Christ. He asked the people to bring qualitive change in the life to give qualitive witness to the world. Further he said 'Easter is all about knowing, believing, loving and serving the Lord to become serving people, loving people, joyful people and living people.'
The Megha event began with an opening prayer by Rev Bishop C.P Singh, Christ Church followed by the lighting of the Lamp by different dignitaries. National Anthem was sung in honour of our country.
The centre of attraction of the MAHOSTAV was a creative play dance and drama with an attractive sound and light was presented by the Pillar Mata society, Shanti Nagar directed by Fr Allen Averes SFX and produced by Easter Samithi.
Later different melodious group Songs were presented by Infant Jesus Church, St Francis Church, Christ Church, Assumption Church, ELC church, Immanuel Church and Christ Fellowship Church. An attractive drama and group dances were presented by CNI Bethlehem Church and New life Mission Church.
Fr. Alfred D'Souza thanked all the guests, volunteers, collaborators, supporters and the laity for making this mega event very memorable one. The Choir from different churches preoccupied the audience before and after the programme with their creativity and melodious songs. The children, youth and young enjoyed the delicious food and attractive games presented during the Mahotsav.
Fr. Maria Stephen the PRO appreciating all the church leaders for their sincere collaboration and support for the mega event said that it was an inspiring to see working together to build the community of faith to give true witness of Resurrected Christ.
