Deputy District Election Officers are charioteers of election rath, said State Election Commissioner Parasuram at a programme of Deputy District Election Officers here on Monday.
Parasuram said that all Deputy DEOs are functioning excellently and added that their role was very important in conducting urban body and panchayat elections.
Parasuram asked the trainees to pay attention that no point is left. He also motivated Deputy DEOs for even better work through various examples.
Secretary GP Shrivastava said Deputy DEOs were backbone of electoral process. They must have full knowledge about electoral process. Officers should act in accordance with checklist, he added.
Deputy Secretary Girish Sharma informed about law and order, vulnerable mapping and communication plan. On paid news, Sharma said that district-level committees on paid news should be constituted. Accounts officer Pradeep Shukla informed about nomination process. Dr Sanjay Dixit and Piyush Bhatnagar threw light on EVMs’ functioning and running.
State-level trainers gave information about role of presiding and election officers, counting process, declaration of results, DMM sealing, model code of conduct and distribution and taking back of election material. Information was also given about expenses accounts monitoring, election duty certificate and implementation of voter awareness programme SENSE.
Deputy Secretaries Deepak Sharma and Buddhesh Vaidya, other officers and Deputy District Election Officers were present on the occasion.
