The police on Monday claimed to have solved the mystery behind the dual murder case in which a woman and her teenage daughter were brutally murdered in Naveen Nagar under Aishbagh police station area two days ago.

While speaking to the mediapersons, Superintendent of Police Bhopal (North) Anshuman Singh said that the reason behind the murder was that one of the victims Divya was repeatedly asking the main accused Harish Rajak to repay the last installment of Rs2,800 for the mobile phone he had purchased on the guarantee of Divya.

Harish was annoyed with the repeated demands and since he was in love with Divya, he did not like Divya’s chatting with few youths over whatsapp. Divya and Harish were in a relationship and last year on Diwali, Harish had bought a mobile phone worth Rs17,000, but he had not paid the last installment. Over this issue, Divya used to have frequent fights with her mother Sunita. On this, Sunita had threatened Harish to lodge a complaint against him with the police.

Harish used to remain upset over Divya’s working and speaking with other youths. Harish lives with his family in Naveen Nagar and his father works with Bhopal DRM office while Harish used to help customers in filling forms of banks.

Divya’s father Raju was not happy with the relationship and when he instructed Harish to stay away from Divya, Harish threatened Raju. Irritated over Divya and his family, Harish decided to kill the family.

On Saturday, Divya again demanded Harish to pay the last installment of mobile phone after which he along with his minor friend went to Divya’s house and the minor, who is an accomplice in the murder, placed his hand over Divya’s mouth while she was stabbed by Harish. later, Sunita was also killed in the same manner.

Notably, Sunita lalwani (40) and her daughter Divya (19) were found murdered on Saturday from their apartment in Naveen Nagar.

During the initial investigation, Divya’s father Raju lalwani had told that Harish Rajak was threatening her daughter for six months and based on the statements, police raided several places, but were not able to find Harish. He was later nabbed from Jhansi on Sunday.
