A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) who had 'disappeared' two years ago under mysterious circumstances was found in a lodge in Khargone by a joint team of the Crime Branch and the Jehangirabad police.

A DSP of the State police, Man Singh Tekam, who allegedly disappeared two years ago, was found in a lodge in Barwah town of Khargone district by the police team from Bhopal, on Thursday night.

Police got information about the missing DSP's whereabouts from its sources following which a team of cops from Bhopal reached Vishranti lodge and knocked the door of the room where he was hiding. Soon after he opened the door police confirmed his identity with the help of a relative and took him into custody last night.

The DSP disappeared from Bhopal about two years back and a missing person report was filed in the Jehangirabad Police Station at Bhopal, the SDOP informed. He was posted in the police headquarters in Bhopal at that time and the reason behind his sudden disappearance is not yet clear. His family members too were forced to work as labourers in Anooppur district's Chandniya village, as per local media reports.

Meanwhile, Jehangirabad Police Station TI Pritam Singh Thakur said that the mental status of Tekam is very weak and he is even taking long time in identifying his relatives. After a brief interrogation he was handed over to his family, he added.

Notably, on February 2, 2015, DSP Man Singh Tekam, a resident of Chandania village, Anuppur district, reportedly left Bhopal for Satna. Since then, Man Singh, posted with the complaint section, has been out of everybody's radar. A missing persons report was filed with the Jehangirabad police. Tekam, who reportedly gave an application for not being well that day, went back home at Ahirpura and asked a neighborhood boy to drop him at Nadra bus stand.
