The District Sports Officers and District Education Officers of the State will work together for the development of rural sportspersons.
The officers will enhance the talent of players, improve their sports and provide them with adequate opportunities for sports. An online meeting for the same was held on Friday.
During the online meeting, guidelines were given to the officers in the meeting by Principal Secretary Sports Pankaj Rag, Commissioner School Education Jayashree Kiyawat and Director Sports and Youth Welfare Pawan Kumar Jain.
Superintendents of Police of the districts also attended the online meeting. Through the meeting, review of district level sports activities and sports infrastructure was taken and feedback was taken from the officials.
Principal Secretary Sports Pankaj Rag said that he should pay attention to the development of sports grounds in order to provide opportunities for children in sports so that the hidden talent at the village level will come forward. He directed the officials to prepare proposals for the development of sports infrastructure by focusing on rural talent.
Commissioner School Education Jayashree Kiyawat said that there is a lot of talent in the State, the need is to identify them and give them an opportunity to showcase talent.
Pawan Kumar Jain said that the new education policy talks about making sports mandatory. The Government of Madhya Pradesh provides a government job to Vikram Awardee player. Officers should work seriously to make children a career in sports. Jain gave information about the "Fit India" and directed the officials to prepare its plan at the district level. He said that this is for all classes and keeping in mind the corona infection, an action plan should be prepared according to the circumstances of the districts.
Decision to set up selection committeeSports Director Pawan Kumar Jain instructed the officials to be transparent in the selection of players. District Superintendent of Police, District Sports Officer, District Education Officer, District Education Sports Officer and expert players of national and international level will be included in the selection committee.
