Crime branch police nabbed dozen gamblers near Subhash Nagar crematorium in the night on Sunday and recovered `35,000 from their possession and a device used to cheat gamblers.
Acting on a tip off, regarding gambling, a dozen miscreants were nabbed who were caught gambling. The nabbed miscreants were gambling near Subhash Nagar crematorium.
Police said that the nabbed gamblers were identified as Naeem (50) of Jehangirabad, Saleem Khan (37) of Subhash Nagar, Haji Qureshi (40) of Ravindra Colony in Jinsi area, Shahnawaz (21) of Afzal Colony, Sanjay Raikwar (43) of Roshanpura, Guddu Khan (52) of Maida Mill Road, Mohd Mukhtar (37) of Aishbagh, Naved Khan (30) of Jinsi, Mohd Ali Ajeez (38) of Jinsi, Zaheer Qureshi (35) of Manjhi Mohalla, Rajesh Malviya (27) and Shameer (26), both resident of Jehangirabad.
The raid conducted revealed interesting fact of an electronic device used to cheat other gamblers.
A look alike device of mobile phone receives denomination of card as bar codes were embossed over the cards and would signal according to the bar code it through the device and the main gambler would put his bet according to the cards of other gamblers.
