Piplani police have arrested 27-year-old man for a dowry death; his wife had committed suicide on May 18 at Siddharth lakecity and during the investigation accused and his parents were booked for dowry death. According to the police, the deceased Abha committed suicide after she was harassed by her husband and in laws.
Police booked deceased’s husband Kamlesh Das and his parents. Initially after the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered by the police. later, during the investigation, police found that the deceased was harassed by her husband and his father Genda Das and mother laxmi Bai demanding dowry and on Saturday accused husband was nabbed by the police while Genda Das and laxmi Bai are yet to be nabbed. The police registered a case under section 304 B of the IPC and section 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act against the three accused.
The family members refused regarding any reason behind the suicide but in the investigation it was found that the family used to harass her for dowry. The deceased Abha married to Kamlesh in the year 2016 and after few months of the marriage she was harassed for dowry and later depressed over the harassment she committed suicide.
Police said that the deceased was found hanging at her residence and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead. The parents of Kamlesh went absconding and would be searched.
