All sections of the society are involved in handicraft works which is lauded in the country and in foreign countries but to link it with religion and caste would harm its development.  It would require liberal attitude of society towards women, said RK Shrivastava on the second day of the two-day programme on international woman day here at Barkatullah University campus on Wednesday.

Shrivastava said that women should come out of their shells and become independent but when someone points at her work male ego gets hurt.

Keynote speaker of the programme Kusum Tripathi said that in the 14th century the excellent handicrafts made by women of European countries have been over shadowed by men and in the same manner in Indian society women are ‘Reproductive Breeders’. In the human society the different handicrafts have been discovered by women but later were dominated by patriarchy.
