Over 500 healthcare professionals rallied on Tuesday afternoon to honour Operation Sindoor of the Indian Army, marching in solidarity at Gandhi Medical College and Hamidia Hospital.
The rally began at the hospital premises, led by the Medical Teachers Association of Madhya Pradesh. Waving flags and chanting patriotic slogans, doctors, nurses and students paid tribute to the armed forces for their bravery.
Operation Sindoor, a recent Indian strike targeting terrorists in Pakistan, has ignited national pride. In Bhopal, the medical fraternity joined in with a symbolic display of gratitude.
Participants marched from Hamidia Hospital to the Dean’s office, ending the event with the national anthem. Several associations, including the Indian Medical Association and Junior Doctors’ Association, took part in the show of unity.
Dr Rakesh Malviya and Dr Abhijeet Deshmukh, the main organisers, said the rally was a heartfelt message of support from doctors to the soldiers guarding India’s borders.
Senior doctors such as Dr Kavita Singh, Dr Sumit Tandon and Dr Anoop Hajela were present, along with staff from the Nursing Association. The event reflected strong patriotic sentiment among Bhopal’s medical community.
