A doctor and his 19-year old daughter were attacked with sharp-edged weapons by three miscreants who took away their car and mobile phones at Arera Colony under Habibganj police station area on Friday. However, the miscreants later abandoned the vehicle at E-2 area of Arera Colony.
Dental surgeon Dr Akhilesh Jain and his daughter were attacked by the armed miscreants at around 10 am. City Superintendent of Police Habibganj Jayant Singh Rathod said that shocked by the incident victim's daughter Paridhi Jain is not in a position to utter anything. The police are waiting for the statements of Paridhi and on the basis of the descriptions launched a hunt for the assailants.
After receiving the information MP Alok Sanjar who also lives in Arera Colony visited the injured. He said that the number of crimes have increased in the city and it requires special attention by making special task force.
In his complaint, Dr Jain has claimed that they were stopped by the miscreants near his house and when he stopped the car one of the miscreant put a gun on his daughter's head while the other two attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon. The victim offered his wallet but they jostled with the two in which one of the miscreants got injured and when they were engaged with the victims a car came from behind which alerted the accused and they escaped with the car after removing the two from the car.
Jain sustained injuries in his right hand while his daughter escaped unhurt. The two reached hospital and informed the family and police.
Police said that Dr Jain sustained deep wounds in his hand and was operated at the hospital. His condition is reportedly stable.
Police recovered his car and from inside the car a sharp-edged weapon and a fake gun. The sharp-edged weapon was having blood over.
The circumstantial evidences suggest that the victims were not targeted for robbery but it was probably an attempt to kidnap the victim or they wanted to kill the victim.
