Allopathic doctors of the State would protest against various policies of the Central Government and would suspend their services for three hours on Wednesday. The doctors of the Government hospitals would wear black ribbons in order to protest against the Government.

Allopathic doctors would protest against the National Medical Commission and the other policies of the Government pertaining to the allopathic doctors.

While talking to the media persons here on Tuesday, Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) State President Dr PD Chandel told that the association would protest on Wednesday as the Government has not fulfilled the demands of the association. IMA has suspended its agitation after getting the assurance from the Central Government in the year 2015 but the Government has taken no action on the demands of the association.

Chandel demanded that Medical Council of India (MCI) should be re-established in the amended form along with the commercial freedom of the doctors. The National Medical Commission should be dissolved. The Indian medical commission is not beneficial for the doctors and for the health education. Compensation amount in the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) should be determined. The clinical establishment act should be modified. The provision of punishment due to lack of documents should be suspended in PC and PNDT act, he added.

Chandel further demanded that Central law should be made for the security of the doctors and strict laws should be made in order to prevent the non-allopathic doctors from treating the patients using the allopathic ways.

Chandel said that IMA has received the support of all the allopathic doctors’ associations of the country. Doctors would demonstrate and would take out a rally from the Gandhi Medical College (GMC). After the rally, the association would submit a memorandum to MP Alok Sanjar.
