Heavy security was deployed at the district court after threat of bombing district court was received by the authorities in the evening on Thursday. The authorities swung into action to tighten the security measures after receiving a letter from banned terror outfit Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), threatening that the Bhopal district court would be blown in the afternoon on Friday.
Soon after the threat was received by the authorities security alter was raised across the state and district court was deployed with armed forces, bomb squad, dog squad and special teams of district forces.
Senior police officials were caught confused as every official provided his own version explaining the heavy security of the district court.
Superintendent of Headquarters Anil Maheswari accepted the threat was received while other senior police officials claimed that it was a mock drill. lack of coordination was visible as they senior officials lack unison and not willing to answer queries when contacted over phone on Friday.
ADG (law and Order) Makrand Deouskar told that police state headquarters PRO has been briefed who said that a letter was found on Thursday evening which claims to be from SIMI stated that blast would be done to blow the district court in the afternoon on Friday and after the information of the bomb threats spread the police force cordoned the district court premises in the night and has been maintained to keep an eye over the situation.
More than 100 security personnel were deployed to vigil the district court premises. Panic prevailed after a letter claiming threats of bomb explosions was received by media house.
Security was beefed up at the district court premises and visitors were checked thoroughly in the wake of threat.
Bomb squad swung into action and searched the premises to avert any untoward action. Dog squad supported the bomb squad in the vigil which started in the night and maintained
However nothing happened but security could not be risked and alert was raised to beef up security. The letter was found in a letter box of a newspaper in which it was claimed that the letter has been from SIMI and district court would be bombed.
