District police launches website to register tenants, servants

Making more convenience to the public the district police on Wednesday launched a web portal so as to enable them to give detailed information about their tenants online on the prescribed format.

Announcing about launch of online web portal, DIG Rakesh Gupta informed that an analytical study of crimes reported in the city in the recent past has revealed that in many crimes reported in the city, domestic servants and tenants have played a key role. As the police stations concerned do not have detailed information about them, these people get away so easily after committing crimes.

Though police from time to time issued notifications through media asking people to give detailed information about their tenants to the nearby police stations, for some reasons or the other, the response of city people in this regard is far from satisfactory. In absence of any information about the tenants, many criminal elements taking benefit of this, go untraced even after committing crimes, the police officer added.

Gupta said as Indore has emerged as a major commercial and academic hub in the state, not only students from surrounding district but also from other parts of the country arrive in the city for jobs and their academic pursuits. Many of these people have been found to be involved in suspicious and criminal activities.

However, as the landlords do not provide any information about their tenants to nearby police stations, many tenants or for that matter domestic servants flee the city after committing crimes.

The DIG said though the city people time and again have been reminded about providing information about their tenants to the police on prescribed format physically but due to lack of time or other reasons, police initiatives have failed to get desired support from the people.

Keeping this in mind, the city police has launched a special online web portal through which the people can upload detail information about their tenants and domestic servants through internet or smart phones, said Gupta, adding that the people can upload information about their domestic helps and tenants by logging on to the Indore police website (www.indorepolice.org) and clicking options of `Add details’”, Tenants, Servants.
