District mining post in Indore vacant for more than a month

The commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh, Indore does not have district mining officer for more than a month.

The previous mining officer Pradeep Khanna, who was posted here for many years was suspended during the previous Government. After some time, he again joined as the district mining officer in Indore, but around a month ago transferred from Indore to Sheopur.

Presently the Indore mining department is being looked after by the senior mining inspector C S Damor as the officiating District mining officer. Interestingly, only 3 mining inspectors are posted in Indore district including Damor.

Due to the vacant post of the district mining officer, illegally laden sand trucks and crushed stone mines could not be checked thus creating a heavy revenue loss to the Government.

In past one months, the mining department could seize only 8 trucks for overloading and transportation of sand and crushed stones without royalty.

On the other hand, hundreds of trucks laden with sand are parked at Nemawar square road Indore and Rajendra nagar mandi.

According to sources, the parking of trucks at Nemawar square and Rajendra nagar mandi is completely illegal and it is the encroachment on the government roads and government property by the sand trucks owners.
