Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that distance education has an important role in making the new education policy a ground reality. Universities should bring the latest knowledge, science and innovations by expanding education to remote areas and disadvantaged sections. Help them to join the mainstream of the development of the nation.Patel was addressing the foundation day program organized for the first time in the 29th year of the establishment of Bhoj Open University in Minto Hall.
Patel said that to make education universal, it is necessary to make it simple, accessible and less expensive. He has asked to make education free from hindrances, to provide education to the students as per their wish and requirement and to eliminate linguistic barriers in education. He spoke of the need to increase access to education for differently-abled people and online skill based courses. He asked to give information to the students about the courses before admission and arrange for career guidance. Along with making education student-oriented, the need for combination of courses according to the needs of science, industry and academic sectors was mentioned.
Patel appreciated the efforts being made by the Higher Education Minister to increase the Gross Enrollment. Governor Shri Patel released Bhoj Darpan 2021 souvenir.
Higher Education Minister Mohan Yadav said that efforts are being made to increase the scope of education in the state.
