Madhya Pradesh Human Right Commission (MPHRC) yielded quick result as Burhanpur District Programme Officer Shweta Jadhav tendered apologies for not replying its directions earlier on Wednesday.
Jadhav, who is in the district Women and Child Development Department, submitted the required papers before the commission and assured that the mistake would not be repeated in future.
She also requested the commission to not take action against her under section 13 (4) of Human Rights (Protection) Act.
MPHRC issued a notice on April 26 to the Principal Secretary of Women and Child Development Department warning that it would proceed against Jadhav under section 13 (4) of the Act for her failure to comply with commission’s repeated notices regarding domestic violence against women in Burhanpur. In one of the cases, the court has already passed an order making provision for maintenance of the child of the woman concerned. She also informed that all other cases are still pending in court.
Relevant documents regarding the cases of domestic violence were presented by Jadhav before MPHRC acting Chairperson Justice AK Saxena who examined the papers thoroughly.
later, satisfied by the response, Saxena revoked the earlier notice of the commission.
