Saddened from death of husband, wife committed suicide by jumping into Bhadbhada dam late in the night on Monday; Kamla Nagar police have started investigation.
Unable to bear the shock of the death of doctor husband his wife committed suicide by jumping from Bhadbhada bridge within an hour. After the death of her husband due to brain hemorrhage, she told the doctor in the hospital that she does not want to live and left the hospital and reached Bhadbhada bridge.
Parag Pathak (47) of Chuna Bhatti was a professor at Bhabha Medical College.
On April 28 in the morning Dr Pathak's reported illness and his health suddenly deteriorated and his wife Preeti Jharia (44) took him to the National Hospital located in Arera colony where she was told that his condition is critical due to brain hemorrhage.
On the second day after surgery, he was put on ventilator.At around 2 in the night of May 2, the doctor told Preeti that her husband Parag had died after which she committed suicide.
Her brothers were informed but before they could reach to save her, she had jumped in the dam.Preeti was an assistant professor at Narela College in Bhopal, she married four years ago.
Police have started an investigation into the matter. The details of treatment and negligence would be investigated.
