Congress general secretary and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Digvijay Singh in a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed fears of yet another scam in the Homeopathic Medical Officer Examination 2013 conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) and demanded a CBI inquiry.
Singh, also a former chief minister of the state in his letter to the chief minister said, “As you know that the STF is doing investigations in the infamous Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam under monitoring of Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted on order of MP High Court. One of your former minister and many officials and employees are in jail in this scam. Your government was forced to cancel the Ayurvedic Medical Officer Examination 2013 conducted by MPPSC due to leakage of its examination papers. In the same series of corruption I fear that lot of irregularities were conducted in the Homeopathic Medical Officer Examination 2013 conducted by MPPSC.”
Singh raised five points in support of the allegations leveled by him and also enclosed the related documents to confirm his allegations. On March 9, 2014 when the question papers for the written examination for the Homeopathic Medical Officer Examination were distributed examinees raised questions over them as the question papers were not duly sealed but the officials of the MPPSC overlooked the objections, he added.
The senior Congress leader further said that the MPPSC published the answer key after the examination on March 24, 2014 in that it provided two bonus numbers for one question to all the examinees. Then on May 20, 2014 the MPPSC published the revised answer key in that it provided 36 bonus marks to all the examinees for 18 questions. In a funny move the MPSSC again published the revised the answer key on August 8, 2014 this time giving 34 marks to all the examinees. This means that all those who wrote right answers and also those who wrote wrong answers were given equal numbers.
This makes it clear that the process was deliberately to provide benefit to some special ones, he added. He said that going from the facts it appears that Homeopathic Medical Officer Examination 2013 is bigger scam than the MPPEB and hence the Homeopathic Medical Officer Examination 2013 should immediately be cancelled.
