Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Saturday sent a reminder to the chairman of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) who is looking into the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam, asking as why no action has been taken over his previous letter in the case, dated March 23. Notably, Singh in a letter on March 23 this year to the SIT chairman demanded registration of criminal offences against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the concerned officers of Indore Police and adding the names of additional accused who may be responsible for destruction/tampering of evidence relevant for bringing home the offences in FIR No; 19/2015 and FIR No; 20/2013.
Singh in his letter on Saturday said, “I had written earlier, bringing on record the incriminating material and information showing tampering/destruction of evidence by official of Indore Police who were associated with the retrieval and seizure of electronic evidence in MPPEB cases at earlier stages. The tampering or destruction of evidence was to shield Chouhan who had recommended names of 48 candidates for recruitment in 83-SS-I, SS-III and AG-III examination held by VYAPAM as per the original excel, sheet maintained by Nitin Mohindra (accused; Principal Analyst of MPPEB). I had also annexed a Forensic Report from Truth labs, Bangalore for substantiating my claims.” The SIT and STF till date has not taken any action on the information which prima facie discloses cognizable offence against Chouhan. As a beneficiary and official of Indore Police who facilitated this transaction of tampering destruction of evidence in crime number 19-20/2013 relating to recruitment of SS-II and SS-III examination.
