Diggy urges Guv to order high-level probe into BDS exam scam

Published on:

Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh has urged Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav to conduct high level investigation in the BDS examination scam as ‘education mafia’ is patronized by the political bigwigs.

In the letter, written to the Governor, Singh has claimed that a nexus is working in an organised manner involving BU officials behind the BDS examination scam which has been confirmed after the arrest of the Sajjan Singh Parmar and it has raised questions on the capabilities of the vice chancellor of the Barkatullah University.

He has expressed concern over the irregularities in the BDS examination which has tarnished the image of the Barkatullah University.

As many as 100 answer-sheets have been found suspicious. Apart from the examination scam ‘agents’ are active in facilitating degree, migration and other certificates which is a disturbing fact.

Many irregularities have been found in the revaluation, re-totaling and disclosing examination details.

Singh has demanded that a high-level investigation under section-52 of the UGC Act should be done and the officials posted for the past several years on the same position should be transferred to break the nexus active for the last several years in the Barkatullah University.

Meanwhile, former member of BU council and State Congress spokesperson JP Dhanopia in a statement alleged that rampant corruption is prevalent in the education sector across the state due to the penetration of ‘education mafia’.

Dhanopia alleged that BU officials are busy in blame game which has led to a directionless investigation and the minister for higher education laxmikant Sharma has not taken the scam seriously.

The level of education has deteriorated under the BJP reign and surfacing of frequent massive scams is not ending which requires CBI inquire into the matter.
