Habibganj police have booked DIG of the Department of Registrar and Stamps Bhopal for harassment and molestation of a female senior Sub-Registrar. The victim has lodged a complaint with woman commission and police.
Raising serious allegations the victim in her complaint stated that the accused DIG Rajeev Jain used to pressurize her to meet him alone and would ask to visit his house with official files after work at his house.
She claimed that Jain used to convey message through other officials to the victim for meeting her in his office. The accused used to ask her to accompany him alone at different sites.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 503, 509 and 354 D of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The police remained reluctant in registering FIR against the accused and after being recommended by woman commission case was registered.
The victim has lodged complaint with the Principal Secretary, ADG Crime against Woman Cell, IG Registrar, IG Bhopal, Mahila Thana Bhopal and Woman Commission.
Earlier, Jain has clarified that the victim was found involved in irregularities and enquiry was conducted against her due to which she has raised complaints to pressurize him to close the enquiry.
The molestation case would be investigated by Sub Inspector Vandana Dubey.
An enquiry committee Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace is conducting enquiry of sexual harassment and molestation charges against DIG Jain.
After she lodged complaint against Jain, the department formed a committee and recorded statements of the victim and accused.
