There has been a dispute in the meeting of the government doctors of the state which was held in the capital Bhopal. Doctors from across the state were called to attend the general meeting of the MP Medical Officers Association at Manas Bhawan in Bhopal. But in the meeting here, the discussion of the election of the state unit of the association started.
The doctors started lobbying with different factions to become the president. Seeing the preparations for the sudden election in the meeting, the doctors got furious. There was a lot of sloganeering during the meeting. More than two thousand doctors have reached Bhopal in the convention.
In the provincial convention of MP Medical Officers Association held at Manas Bhawan, Bhopal, the doctors took out a lot of anger on the stage. The doctors who came from different districts told the stage that we do not want such a leadership that leaves the doctors at the time of crisis and starts pressuring us to resign under the pressure of politicians and officers.
The also alleged that there were incidents of assault or misbehavior with the doctor who is standing for the patients by risking his life day and night or arbitrary wrong orders of the administration. Instead of persuading us to obey orders, the doctor who has the courage to put us firmly in front of the government and administration should lead us.
Dr Diwakar Patel, who came from Damoh, said that we had been called for a meeting of the General Body of MPMA. At present, the Health Department is trying to bring in the new doctors of its choice by 25 percent direct recruitment and make them direct class one doctors, whereas at present many specialist doctors are working across the state at class 2 medical officers level. If they are promoted, they can work as specialists. Many such arbitrary decisions are being taken. Due to this doctors are leaving government jobs. Patients are being harmed by this.
Dr. Diwakar Patel said that there was no provision for elections in the pre-planned process of today's General Body meeting, but suddenly the matter of elections started coming up. Attempts are being made to conduct elections in an unconstitutional manner which is being opposed. We do not want such people to be put on posts in the association whose names have already been decided. Elections should be conducted in a constitutional manner with full process.
