To observe the World Music Day and Yoga Day the ‘little Dhrupad Singers’ event is organized by Dhrupad Sansthan Bhopal for Thursday. In this event, children aged 3 to 12 years will give Dhrupad performance before the Bhopalites.
It is worth noting that all these children are the disciples of Dhrupad singer and music Guru Mukund Dev. Mukund Dev's idea is that Dhrupad singing is definitely a tough mode, but where the kids are concerned nothing is easy or difficult.
The children sing them as they are taught. He further said, “While doing riyaaz with his disciples, a guru has to take care of the various nuances of this mode, so that children can learn Dhrupad by taking interest in it.”
Dhrupad is one of the great ancient forms of Indian culture, but nowadays, its talented artists are not in abundance.
Then there is no suitable platform for the younger saints of Dhrupad.
In such a situation, with the inspiration of his master Padmashree Gunde's brothers, the idea of taking a grand gathering on the children in the mind of Mukund Dev came to mind. "little Dhrupad Singers" is of the same idea.
In this programme, the show will be presented by four years old Shreyanshi Pahwa, nine yearsold Vadehi Rao and eight years ol Vini Gupta.
They will perform Solo Dhrupad singing. It is worth mentioning that both Vinni Gupta and Shreyanshi Pahwa have also played Dhrupad in the concert organized on the occasion of International Dhrupad Day.
Besides, Srishti, Anushka, Rishita Chaudhary, Arnab Khattar and Ojas Kulashreth will perform together in collective Dhrupad.
They will be accompanied by Deepak Tiwari on Pakhawaj from Gujarat.
Besides, a lecture focused on Dhrupad will also be held on the topic "How is mental development of children in Dhrupad singingIJ" Psychologist Dr. Shreya Gehawa will conduct the lecture. Dr Shreya Gahawa has received training from the US in Psychology.
