DHE claims on online admission fall flat

Published on:

Department of Higher Education (DHE) has failed to start online registration for admission in Statewide colleges on Wednesday also. DHE Commissioner VS Niranjan had assured of the online admission process to start from the next day of the twelfth standard results declared by Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE).

Niranjan told ‘The Pioneer’ on May 20 that the registration for online admission process will start from the very next day of declaration of the State Board results. It is worth mentioning that the web portal of DHE for registration and admission system is not ready. National Informatics Centre (NIC) is responsible for creating and operating the web portal. During last year’s admission process, NIC had handled all the traffic

efficiently resulting into the success of online admission system in its initial year but according to sources NIC officials did not take much interest in creation of the online system this year which resulted into delay in completion of portal.

DHE officers are trying to get the portal completed but several problems have occurred till now; among them the major ones are delay in higher secondary results and indecisiveness over minority colleges.

The Minority colleges have been given time up to May 24 that means decision over them can be taken earliest by May 25.

The website for registration and admission www.mphighereducation.nic.in has started showing the colleges, courses offered and eligibility but the option for registration is still not be shown. The delay in the registration can lead to delay in both admissions and academic session which means DHE will itself hamper the academic calendar. DHE Commissioner  Niranjan was not available to comment over the issue.
