An event marking Gandhi Jayanti was organised at Shaheed Bhavan auditorium here on Monday. The Directorate of Swaraj Sansthan organised the evening featuring devotional songs ‘Ekau Ram Rahim’ to mark the D-day.
At the event renowned devotional and folk song vocalist Pamashri Prahlad Tipanya presented his show leaving the audience mesmerized. Marking the event Prahlad presented present Kabir Vaani, along with his favourite hymns in the sumptuous tone of musical instruments.
He began his performance with Guru Vandana. He then performed few Malwi folk songs and compositions of Kabir. He laso performed devotional songs like Tu Kya Jaane Peer Parayi, followed with Ram Rahim Ek. He was accompanied by Ashok Tipanya on vocal, Ajay Tipanya on Dholak, Vijay Tipanya on Manjira and Vocal, Narayan Sharoliya on violin and Dharmendra Tipanya on Harmonium.
Born in Tarana on September 7, 1954, Prahalad Tipaniya started his life as a teacher. But later he found solace in Malwi folk music and then he shifted to Kabir Gayan. Prahlad Tupaniya, famous for the presentation of Kabir bhajan in Malvi folk singer, has made its distinctive identity across the country. He has performed in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Patna, lucknow, Patna Doordarshan Hymns, with adding his innovations to the folk music. In 2011, Tipaniya was awarded with the Padmashri by the Government of India, has been feted with several awards including the Sangeet Natak Akademi.
