Even with several hurdles on the path, Barkatullah University (BU) has succeeded in starting sixth semester examination on time. University administration has succeeded in covering three months delay in the academic calendar.
The sixth semester examination of BA, BA (Management), BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA and BSc (Home Science) courses started on Monday. More than 70,000 students are going to appear in the fourth and sixth semester examinations.
Notably, the fifth semester examination of BSc and BA concluded in the third week of January 2013. Then according to the academic system the examination should have been conducted in mid-July and results would have been declared in September 2013 but that would have spoilt one academic session of students to be graduated.
Due to delay in exams, Department of Higher Education (DHE) Commissioner VS Niranjan issued notice to the BU administration in January this year.
BU Confidential Deputy Registrar VK Singh said that university administration never wants to spoil the career of students that’s why despite late examinations of fifth semester, university staff worked very hard to declare results on time and then prepare for final semester examination. Examinations were never conducted due to delay in university work but due to some external problems like employees union strike etc.
Singh further said that the sixth semester examinations have started and the first paper has been successfully organised. The department is completely prepared for conducting rest of the exams. Time table of fourth semester examinations have been also declared and second semester time table will be declared soon.
The results of the sixth semester examination will be declared by June 20 and mark-sheets will be issued to students within a week, added Singh.
