The recent transfers of 20 Deputy Collectors done by the State Government have puzzled the citizens and a mixed reaction has come out since 15 Deputy Collectors have been transferred in the same city but in different departments.
While talking to The Pioneer, the officials said that there are 51 districts in Madhya Pradesh and hundreds of deputy collectors are posted in all. So even if the Government can transfer deputy collectors to different districts but they are posted in the same cities then what was the point in the whole exercise.
The basic aim of the transfer was to send one officer from one city to another city and not to the same city. Is the State Government functioning under some pressure so it could not transfer these deputy collectors to other cities or if the Government considers these officers as brilliant officers who can very well do administration in big cities like Indore and Bhopal, then they should be sent to more needful districts where their good administrative skills can yield better results .
locals alleged that these officers are not leaving the big cities like Indore and Khandwa for their personal luxury. And with their link ups with higher political leaders and senior administrative officers they are always successful to stay in big cities.
Some people told The Pioneer that State Government has given the free hand and support to the administrative officers for good governance and they don’t threaten and pressurise the State administrative officers for long-distance postings like previous congress Government.
