The Department of Post will observe its National Postal Week from October 9 to 15, which several programmes will be witnessed during the week in Madhya Pradesh Postal circle of the department, a postal official said.
Chief Post Master General of Madhya Pradesh AP Shrivastava, while talking to media persons on Tuesday, informed that on Wednesday the World Postal Day will be observed in context with the establishment of Universal Postal Union.
On the same day in 1874, this organisation was established. Universal Postal Union which is also known as UPU, worked as a regulatory body all around the world, he added.
On the first day, World Postal Day would be observed while on October 10 Saving Bank Day, on October 11 Mail Day, on October 12 Philately Day, on October 14 Business Development Day and on October 15 Postal life Insurance Day would be observed.
During this week, programmes that will be organised at divisional level, consumer will be made aware of information about postal services and other products. Meetings will be organised with big postal mailers.
Philately Bureau will be shown to school students also information related to post ticket collection will be given and Philately exhibition will be organized. While observing the Postal life Insurance Day, workshops would be orgnaised to inform the people about new opportu8nities in the field of insurance and the schemes related to social security.
