The citizens in the capital on Saturday woke up with a hazy morning along with chilly weather conditions. The dense fog was witnessed in the early hours of the morning and remained till late in the day.

The sunrays were not able to penetrate and provide relief to the people as around afternoon the weather conditions normalised providing a little relief but the clear sky was not visible at all till late afternoon. With the advent of the evening the temperature dipped further and took the weather conditions in the harsh zone.

The changes brought the night temperature down and in the State capital the night temperature was recorded at 2 degree Celsius, below the normal. Except the city, other major cities like Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur witnessed an increase in night temperature. Met Officials informed that abrupt change witnessed in the weather condition occurred due to an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over N-W Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan increasing the humidity across the State. The fog blanket witnessed during the morning was a result of the weather conditions.

The weather conditions in the State capital are likely to follow the same trend and haze would be witnessed on Sunday morning, the weathermen opined. Although due to the increase in humidity sharp decline in the temperatures were not witnessed in the State and its Capital.

Dense fog decreased the visibility and Met officials said that the visibility decreased to around 50 m but at several places the dense fog actually decreased the visibility below 50 m. It was the first foggy morning of the season witnessed by the city. Damoh and Rajgarh recorded the lowest night temperature at 6 degree Celsius on Saturday. Weathermen further informed that the day temperatures would reel in the range of 9-10 degree Celsius while the night temperature would be witnessed in the range of 26-27 degree Celsius.
