Alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed to provide facilities to the masses despite seeking 50 days time, former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Suresh Pachouri said here on Thursday that the demonetisation was only to benefit the industrialists and it is the biggest scam of the century. Pachouri was addressing the Congress workers before flagging off a motor bike rally taken out to protest against the demonetisation and spiralling commodity prices.
Pachouri flagged off the rally led by Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee former spokesman Arif Masood at DB Mall that after passing through MP Nagar, Jail Road, Jadha, Jehangirabad, Shabban Chouraha, Saint Francis School, Jinsi Chouraha, Chiklod Road, lily Talkies, Barkhedi via Patra, Bharat talkies, Chhawni, Mangalwara, Itwara and Islampura culminated at Band Master Chouraha Budhwara, where a public meeting was held. The bikers in the rally were shouting slogans ‘Modi hatao desh bachao’ remove Modi save country).
Pachouri said, “PM Modi took a big decision of demonetization all of a sudden that led to inconveniences to the people. long queues were seen at the banks in that poor, farmers and laborers stood up to deposit their money. Over a hundred people died in bank queues due Modi’s decision of demonetisation. PM sought 50 days from the people of the country to resolve the problems they were facing due to demonetisation but till now he has failed to provide normal banking facilities to the people.”
Former MPCC spokesman Arif Masood in his address on the occasion said, “The problems of the people due to demonetisation are not ending despite the time period sought by PM to resolve them. lakhs of peoples have lost their jobs, over 100 persons have died, farmers, laborers, middle class, students, traders and all others are facing problems due to Government’s inability to make easy flow of new currency in the market. Farmers crops have ruined economy of the country has been hit badly. But PM is not ready to understand that black money, corruption and terrorism would not come to an end by changing the color and size of currency because every note in the shape of cash is not black money.”
